Business Central and a new system for property management

New "hot" technology ensures cheap hosting and has green perspectives for the real estate portfolio

Business Central has become a super ERP base platform with open well-documented interfaces for i.a. IOT platforms with sensors. Thus, if there is a toilet dripping, it is important to know the address and the tenant. That information is born in the property management system and should be shared with fringe systems.

Since Dynamics Property is built in Business Central, it is a candidate who should be looked at when building a new IT architecture.

Not only does the platform provide green opportunities, but there are also many savings!

Save hosting expense

Previously, the ERP installation had to be hosted at a 3.part. Today, it's part of the license expense! However, you can still choose to host the solution in the "old" way, but by using the opportunities the license provides, that expense can be eliminated altogether.

It can easily be several thousand dollars saved here!

There is not just to choose freely from all shelves

"Cost-determined rent" – only a Danish political tradition can devise such a set of rules. International systems do not have a chance to solve the task let alone understand matter.

In fact, newer property management solutions aren't geared up for the task either.

Platform and business processes belong together

It is important not only to focus on the technique when choosing a new system for property management. Today, it is also not enough to focus on the business processes. Both issues need to be lifted so that the processes make sense in a broader context, cf. the introductory remarks on integrating to other systems.

Business Central's core system contains a very strong general ledger part. Around this core there is buying/selling, a case module, production management, a service solution, and a plant module. This means that if you have a service department, you will be able to cover its needs using the standard functionality. Dynamics Property can draw on this functionality and adds client, property, lease, and tenant

Software is a service over the Internet!

Software has gone from something - running on a local PC - to it being installed on the server of a hosting company to now being a service maintained by the vendor and running centrally with many thousands of customers' installations.

Artificial intelligence dimensions the systems and performance is constantly optimized.

Who operates an installation?

It is Microsoft that oversees the operation of Business Central, and a possible supplier who oversees maintenance of an additional solution.

In Business Central, the vendor can list applications that can work together in a positive list.

Creativity in business

Navision's old strength was that the company could adjust optimize its own business processes. The downside was that the company remained locked in an old version, as it was complex (implied "expensive"), to make corrections. Business Central remedied this by keeping customizations separate from the base system. Best practice, however, is to make automated tests for its own processes, so that the company can be sure that the "logic" works as intended as updates arrive.

So, when the CO2 tax comes – and if a part on a consumption basis must go to the tenant, it will be possible to establish this in Dynamics Property’s
